*Latest News* Wokingham Borough Council Grant Aid 2009-10 The Council launched its new voluntary sector grant programme at the Wokingham Borough Voluntary Sector Forum Conference on 20th October. Grant forms and Guidance Notes are now available from VAWB or at www.wokingham.gov.uk. Don't forget to read the Guidance Notes before completing your application form and call VAWB if you need help to complete them. The deadline for receipt of applications is 1st December 2008.
Our Purpose Voluntary Action Wokingham Borough (VAWB) exists to develop, promote and support local voluntary and community activity in the Wokingham Borough Council area. We do this by providing a range of services and acting as a voice for member groups. We are run by and for local voluntary and community groups to build a strong independent voluntary sector.
Our Aims
To provide services and support to local voluntary and community organisations.
To create and promote forums and networks through which local organisations and communities may make representation.
The provision of opportunities for closer working together within the voluntary and community sector and statutory authorities and to encourage the cross-sector co-operation.
To encourage and promote effective involvement of the local voluntary and community sectors in strategic partnerships.
To encourage new ideas, strategies and organisations.
